Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Since 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American families and businesses were able to save $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. Every Pella® Product meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. How does this impact you? Not only could you notice a drop with your heating and cooling charges, you’ll also help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are specifically designed and made-to-order for your home, meaning no two projects are identical. Our wide variety of products make it difficult to discuss pricing without first bearing in mind your needs and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it helpful to send out a Pella sales representative who will give you a quoted project price after seeing the project site itself. To speed up the quoting procedure, your Pella® sales representative is prepared with a computer and a portable printer so that they can give you all the quote information you’ll need—once the sales representative has a chance to consider the requirements of the task and matches them with your vision.

In addition to offering a wide range of first-rate products to select from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you fantastic window and door products at affordable prices, giving you a chance to make the upgrades you want to while building great value into your Springfield area home while you do it.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We suggest that you clean them with a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning mix or use an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. Or you can make your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Apply the mix to a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not recommend glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based as they have a tendency to leave streaks or create a film that attracts moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses contract installers who are certified to install Pella doors and windows. We require them to complete a carefully crafted set of training courses so that your windows and doors are properly installed and meet Pella’s strict warranty criteria. We look for the best Springfield-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Prior to beginning our relationship, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully covered by liability and workers compensation insurance. Aside from Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Pella provides services and support that “big box” stores can’t perform. Our specialty is selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Working with a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and quality installers means that you will have the knowledge of our whole team. We frequently use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. You can easily contact your sales representative or our main office if you have any concerns and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are several important reasons why Springfield homeowners choose Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Pella is a privately owned, professionally managed company founded in 1925. Every one of our high quality windows and doors are produced with care and serviced by Pella’s qualified Direct Sales Network. Unlike many of our competitors who sell exclusively through lumberyards or big box stores, Pella has dedicated windows & door stores across the United States and Canada. This unique way of conducting business gives the homeowners in Springfield a highly personal experience with the assistance of a local to Springfield, Pella-certified team. Whether you are looking for the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a top quality, energy efficient and durable solution.

Pella Springfield’s in-home consultation is a critical first step to ensure your satisfaction and the most appropriate window or door products are selected for your Springfield home and budget.
